Payment and Insurance
Payment & Deposits
When booking an initial consultation, we require a £75 deposit and the remaining payment is due at the time of your consultation or when your pet is collected if they have been admitted for treatment. Please be advised that the deposit is non-refundable unless you give us 24 hours’ notice to either change or cancel the appointment.
Any medications dispensed/procedures that might need to be undertaken whilst in consultation will incur an additional fee on top of the cost of the consultation.
Please ensure you have sufficient funds to make payment as we do not offer credit facilities. Payments may be made by Cash or by all major Credit/Debit cards, including American Express, to make payment as easy as possible. We do not accept cheques.
If your pet requires a surgical procedure, we require 75% of the estimated total cost of surgery a week prior to the procedure, the remainder to be paid on collection.
If you would like to do a direct claim, where the insurance company pays us directly, you would need to check with your insurance company that they offer a pre- authorisation service, and any excess & co-payment fees need to be settled upon collection on the day of surgery. Please note that if a direct claim is approved this is for the surgical procedure only, not for any subsequent appointments.
The post-operative checkup following surgery is free of charge, however, follow up appointments during the weeks following surgery are chargeable, as well as any further medications your pet might require.
Pet Insurance & Direct Claims
If your pet is insured and you would like to make an insurance claim, we will aim to deal with your insurance claim within 4 weeks of the date of your appointment, but please bear in mind that we are a small independent practice and that some claims may take longer. We thank you for your patience and understanding.
We work with pet insurance companies every day, so please bring your policy details with you. We’ll submit your claim as quickly as possible.
For major surgeries, direct claims, where the insurer pays us directly, may be possible, but an administration fee of £48.92 applies as we need to carry out checks with your insurer and obtain a pre-authorisation where possible. If your insurance company does offer pre-authorisation, it can take 7 – 10 days to receive authorisation from them.
Our reception team can guide you through this process.
